The son of a wealthy family, Oliver falls in love with a candy store's daughter named Jennifer. They first meet at the library during Oliver's school days at Harvard university. Jenny persisted that she would go to Paris to study music after she graduates. But Oliver goes against his father's will and persuades her to marry him after they graduate. Jenny teaches at a elementary school to pay for Oliver's school fee and endures the poor conditions of living. However, she smiles to him and said, "Love means not ever having to say you're sorry." After two years of hard work, Oliver graduates the college with high grades, ranking third at HarvardLaw School. He works as an attorney with high paying salaries. At the same time, the two make a baby. It seemed as everything was going fine. However, when Jenny went to the hospital she was told that she has cancer and she has only until winter to live. Oliver refuses to undertake many jobs requested and tries his best to take care of Jenny, but she becomes weaker and weaker. One day on a cold winter morning, Oliver's father hears that Jenny had cancer. But by the time he heard this, Jenny had already passed away. He said, "Why didn't you tell me! I could have helped you." Oliver interrupts his father's words and says, "Love⦠Love means not ever having to say you're sorry." Oliver goes to the couple's memorable place and sits alone forever. |
